DAN DEACON SHOW ANNOUNCED!

I know we're often very excited about the bands and artists we put on here at OIB but this one really is set to be maaaaassive.
The awesome Dan Deacon is coming to The Haunt, Brighton on the 29th September and if you know anything of his live shows you'll know it's going to be absolutely unmissable.

He's in there somewhere...

Whether he's making great new tracks, scoring pieces for films or casually creating viral videos in excess of fifteen million views, Dan Deacon is always up to something interesting and it's set to be very much the same for his show in Brighton.
With this being the first time we've put him on a show we're all excited here at OIB about what he might get up to this time.

Plus, his video for Paddling Ghost is one of the coolest videos we've ever seen. Ghosts, horses and bobble hats all in puppet form. Genius.

So get your tickets for this right here at this link below before this show sells out, it won't take long.

Death Grips Show SOLD OUT! - Interview at Pitchfork

We're incredibly excited here at One Inch Badge for the arrival of one of the most energetic, exciting and ferocious live bands touring at the moment.
Those of you with tickets for Death Grips are in for a real treat and with the show sold out it's all set up
to be an awesome night.

Drummer Zach Hill caught up with Pitchfork (who gave the new album an 8.7/10 - Nice!) to talk all things wrong, right and twisted and it's well worth a read to get in the inside scoop of some of there unusual recording techniques and just what drives the band, especially since there signing with giants Epic Records.

There new album 'The Money Store' has been described as 'layers of hypnotic electronics under a furious rhythmic panic attack' - Sounds like a fairly good way to spend an evening if you ask me.

FIELD MUSIC SHOWS ANNOUNCED

Field Music are coming to The Haunt in Brighton and The Cellar in Southampton and we're probably as excited by this as you are. Let the countdown to October begin.

With their fourth album Plumb released in February to critical acclaim it's no surprise there back on the road for there UK tour in October and fortunately for us they've decided to pop in and delight your ears.

With an 8/10 from NME, 4/5 from the Guardian and 9/10 from Drowned in Sound it's a subtle reminder of just how important it is to catch these guys live.

Plus Al Kooper said they were his favourite band, what more reason do you need?

Wednesday 10th October, The Cellar, Southampton:

Thursday 18th October, The Haunt, Brighton:

BEAR IN HEAVEN INTERVIEW ON THIS IS FAKE DIY

We really like these guys at One-Inch Badge, it's the second time we've put a show on for them and we're really excited to see them again.
Their new record 'I Love You, It's Cool' is out now via Dead Oceans/Hometapes and no doubt it shall receive the same warm response it did from there first record when pitchfork gave it a fantastically precise 8.4/10 review. Not too shabby eh.

They recently caught up with this is fake diy for an interview which we've attached below, talking about there shows at SXSW and picking apart the new album, check.it.out.

Architects New Single

It's finally here. The brighton metallers new track "These Colours Dont Run" is up online with a new lyric video to go along side it.
Going back to their previous more agressive sound but still not forgetting all they've developed with the last album, this new track seems to be the best of both worlds. Check out the video below.

You can see Architects play a rare hometown show and the first date of their UK tour at Concorde 2 on Sunday the 1st of April. With support from Rolo Tomoassi and Stray From The Path.

SHEARWATER live @ The Haunt , 30th March

It’s been suggested—by fans, detractors, even by the band’s founder—that Shearwater and whatever we call underground/indie/whatever-rock in this part of the century are not an obvious fit. And that’s true. So much of what we hear these days (the lousy stuff, anyway) is willfully insular; Jonathan Meiburg’s songs, by contrast, have constantly tackled bigger questions and been propelled by massive musical ambitions.

Though it’s possibly a wild projection to claim a few years of bouncing through various band lineups, record labels and places of residence have led to a radical reboot, Shearwater are big believers in citing circumstantial evidence and letting the jury figure it out for themselves. They are having a gig at The Haunt on 30th of March as part of their European tour.

Drowned in Brighton

Drowned in sound have done a feature on the Brighton music scene and have quite nicely given us a few mentions.

Drowned in Brighton, highlights our shows at a number of venues including shows for The Wave Pictures, Sleep Party People, Bear In Heaven and Liars at The Green Door Store. Saying that...
"The Green Door Store continues packing 'em in and there is no sign of a hold up"
It goes on to praise The Haunt proclaiming it
"has now placed itself firmly at the centre of Brighton's live music cosmos"
and includes our upcoming shows with Shearwater and Sea Of Bees.

When discussing the record label's in Brighton, they highlight Fat Cat Records.
"In conjunction with buy local promoter One Inch Badge, there is the return of the Cat's live event Furballs. On 14th of April on stage at The Hope will be Odonis Odonis with their tidal waves of sound and mutant surf guitar"
