We are : One Inch Badge, an innovative and progressive event promotions and production company based in Brighton. With over 12 years experience we are the most prominent independent promoters of contemporary music in the South East. We deliver over 500 events a year across a diverse range of mediums and genres. Our music programme includes events for such artists as Bonobo, Flume, Oh Sees, Mogwai, Kate Tempest, Haim, Brian Wilson, Freya Ridings, The War on Drugs, Macklemore, Kurt Vile, Royal Blood, Future Islands, Wu-tang Clan, Rodriguez, Nils Frahm, and many more. Our cultural programme includes national touring for acts and shows such as Jon Ronson, Eric Andre, Akala, Ross Edgley, Making a Murderer (Netflix), the Staircase (Netflix), Silent Hill (Konami), Welcome to Night Vale, and many more. Our festival productions include the Mutations Music Festival, Wave Podcast Festival and multiple events at Edinburgh Fringe.


As we continue to expand we are excited to offer this rare opportunity to join our dynamic programming team in Central Brighton. In the role of Assistant Booker you will be working directly with company directors and programmers assisting with their rosters and seeking out emerging talent.  In addition you will be assisting across the companies portfolio of managed venues to deliver the high level of results that One Inch Badge are known for.


Responsibilities include:


  • the early stage discovery and programming of the ‘headliners of the future’ as you passionately research and seek out the best new talent from around the world

  • preparing financial artist offers and pre/post show reporting

  • liaising directly with artists, agents and tour managers as you discuss artist requirements and prepare event production advances

  • completing and returning artist contracts

  • liaising directly with our network of UK venues as you prepare avails and proposed UK tour routings

  • working to strict budgets



Within this role you will also assist company directors across the companies portfolio of managed venues. Responsibilities include:



  • liaising directly with promoters throughout the UK assisting with their hire enquiries

  • providing hirers with rate and technical information

  • venue ticketing set-up and venue website maintenance

  • liaising with hirers as you prepare venue production advances

  • compiling post-event reports for directors

  • handling post event settlements with hirers


Personal requirements:


  • 2 years experience in programming in the live music industry (preferred but not essential)

  • A passion and motivation for new music, actively hunting out the newest and freshest sounds from around the world.

  • Exceptional communication skills – you will liaise daily with artists, managements, agents, promoters, external suppliers and tour personnel.

  • Very good attention to detail

  • A positive working attitude, a flair for creativity, and a desire to learn

  • An active gig goer who is already attending concerts and events several nights a week.

  • Thorough knowledge of the roster of acts and events One Inch Badge produce

  • Proactive, enthusiastic and passionate about adapting to the ever-changing world of live music promotion

  • Great at multi-tasking – able to divide time between tasks effectively and prioritise when needed

  • A team player – willing to work flexibly to tackle the companies focus on any given day

  • Self motivating and able to work independently

  • Able to thrive in a fast paced and busy environment

  • Prior understanding of event marketing and ticketing (preferred but not essential)

  • Proven Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (preferred but not essential)

  • Proficient in Excel

The full time role is 35 hours per week plus an additional 3.5 evenings per month as a key member of the companies live concert team.


We will also be accepting applications from those candidates that would prefer to be located in our London office, 1 day a week travel to Brighton required.
