Formed in the hot, wet mid-summer of 2008 from the ashes of Birmingham quartet Distophia and the shorter-lived Antlers, Calories are a mix of crashing guitars and killer hooks that keep each song pounding through your brain for days. More a band of brothers than bandmates; they collectively write, play and sing each song - swapping instruments from track to track during writing and recording of their second album, “Basic Nature”, on Tough Love. Touring relentlessly and building up a solid reputation for reliably chaotic, caffeine-fuelled sludge-punk-pop, this band are known for kickin’ ass and takin’ names, left right and centre.
