My Device

Arriving just in time to save your weekend, My Device are a frantic and energetic power-trio from Brighton who create intricate slabs of controlled chaos full of grinding guitars, frenzied drums and thick pounding bass. Its sure-fire indie-disco that while boasting a fun and danceable pop exterior, is wrapped up in multi-genre influenced freak outs and thick walls of fuzz and feedback.

My Device split in 2010 (years active 2003 – 2010).

Todd Jordan now performs in Nullifier and Negative Pegasus. Russell Eke now performs in Soft Arrows (with Lonely Ghosts’ Tom Denney) and Nullifier. Alex Uren now performs in Cousin and Nullifier.

Following on from OIB Records Split Series Volume 2 (feat: Half-handed Cloud; SJ Esau; Suburban Kids With Biblical Names; Kopek) and OIB Records Split Series Volume 3 (feat: Lovvers; Knyfe Hyts; The Death Set; Best Fwends) comes OIB Records Split Series Volume 4, a limited edition 7” bringing together four of the most crucial and exciting contemporary math-emo and psych-rock bands.

My Device – Sea Robins

Long ago, OIB Records was kick started with the 7” single release 'Eat Lead' by Brighton’s own My Device. Since then, the band recorded two albums, toured internationally, and developed from one exciting style to another... Now My Device have sadly called it quits, and mark the end of their glorious career with this swansong release. ‘Sea Robins’ has long been a live favourite, and is a taut, claustrophobic slice of acerbic eastern-flavoured swamp rock. They will be undoubtedly missed.

Limited to just 450 copies worldwide each record comes with reversible gatefold sleeves, inserts and one-inch badges designed by the bands involved.

**OIB Records webstore exclusive, the first 50 sales of Split Series Volume 4 come with a very limited edition set of all 4 badges, each one designed by the bands involved, retail copies only come with one badge for the corresponding artists cover.
